Gardain Ruby-Eye is an unusually small dwarf known throughout the Cairns for his expertise in excavated artifacts and his side-business as a messenger. Despite his small height for a dwarf, he maintains a Friendly attitude toward those who visit his shop, Vintage Treasures.

Appearance #

• Distinctive Features: Gardain has bright pale green eyes, long ear lobes, and purple lush hair.
• Markings: He is heavily decorated with ink, featuring spider web, arrow, and mermaid tattoos.
• Demeanor: He is generally thoughtful and curious, though he often displays an unimaginative or pragmatic approach to his work.

The “Torso” Gallery #

Among the residents of the Cairns, Gardain is famous for his obsession with celebrity status. He treats every visiting person of note as a potential addition to his “Wall of Fame.” However, his photographic skills are somewhat hampered by his dwarven perspective.

Gardain insists on taking a commemorative photo with every famous person who enters his store; because he frames the shots based on his own height, the resulting pictures almost exclusively feature Gardain smiling broadly next to the famous person’s midsection or torso. The walls of Vintage Treasures are lined with these “headless” portraits of Ustalav’s elite.
