Fistula Skycrusher

Overview #
In the fog-choked, aristocratic streets of Laurelight Hill, an anomaly rises with the dawn. Within the aromatic, welcoming walls of the bakery Ravenous, Fistula Skycrusher—a Hold-Scarred Orc—kneads dough with the same powerful hands that once gripped a raiding axe.
Born to the brutal Skycrusher clan of Belkzen, Fistula’s early life was a tapestry of harsh survival and the erratic, booze-fueled cruelty of her father, a high-ranking raider whose spirit had been broken by the clan’s relentless war-cycle.
Unlike her kin, Fistula found no solace in the pillaging of weak borders; she found the heat of the forge and the oven far more comforting than the fire of the battlefield. Seeking to escape the Skycrusher’s bloody legacy, she fled east, eventually finding herself in the cosmopolitan, yet inherently suspicious, capital of Caliphas.
Her transition from a Belkzen raider to an artisan baker has been far from seamless. She remains caught between two worlds: the brutal, direct culture of her orcish heritage and the rigid, suffocating social expectations of Ustalav. Every croissant she shapes and every loaf she scores is a quiet, deliberate act of defiance against her father’s alcoholic despair and the Skycrusher’s violent edicts. She bakes not just for sustenance, but to prove that an orc can create, not merely destroy.
Appearance #
Fistula stands behind the counter of Ravenous, her frame a stark contrast to the delicate pastries arranged behind the glass. She is of average height, she is slightly overweight from indulging in a bit too much in Ravenous’s delicacies. Her pale green eyes are wide and restless, darting between customers with an intensity that borders on suspicion - occasionally brushing some of her black wispy hair out of her eyes; while her mouth often hangs slightly open as if she is preparing to taste the air for quality control.
Despite the flour dusting her nose, her clothing is immaculate—fine fabrics that would shame most citizens of Laurelight Hill. Her most striking adornments are the simple, colorful friendship bracelets encircling her wrists and a delicate silver necklace shaped like a croissant. Her hands, though scarred from old clan-battles, move with a startlingly light touch, a testament to her devotion to the craft of the oven.
Spiritual & Psychological Portrait #
Fistula exists in a state of profound transition. She is caught in a persistent limbo of indecision, often struggling to reconcile the orc she was expected to become with the artisan she has chosen to be. This conflict manifests as a deep-seated apprehension toward her own potential; she frequently doubts her worthiness in this refined, urban environment, fearing that her past is a shadow she can never truly outrun.
Her spiritual life is anchored to Torag, the Father of Creation. She treats the bakery as her sacred forge, viewing her pastries as works of art that must honor the deity’s principles of craftsmanship, honor, and service to one’s community. Despite this devotion, she is plagued by the fear that her father, who remains distant and judgmental, will never validate the path she has chosen. She seeks to prove her worth to him, hoping that by mastering her craft, she might eventually earn the trust and recognition she was denied in her youth.
