Overview #

Evni Zongnoss is the commanding Venture-Captain currently overseeing Society interests in the Gravelands (the region formerly known as Lastwall). She is currently running the Pathfinder Society out of the Vodavani_Lodge. A gnome of remarkable focus and spiritual depth, she is the primary architect behind the Society’s ongoing efforts to rescue trapped agents and recover lost history from the path of the Whispering Tyrant.

The Survivor of Vigil #

Before the fall of Lastwall, Evni operated out of the Vigil Lodge. When the Tyrant’s seal broke, she was instrumental in coordinating the civilian evacuation of the capital. While she escaped with her life, the loss of her home and countless colleagues has left a visible mark on her. She has since relocated to Caliphas, turning the Vodavani Lodge into a hub for “Graveland Recovery Teams.”

Key Characteristics #

  • Appearance: Evni is small even for a gnome, often draped in traveling robes of deep indigo and cobalt. She wears a blue turban pinned with a golden butterfly—the sacred symbol of Desna.

  • Demeanor: She is perpetually busy, usually surrounded by maps, Harrow cards, and recovery manifests. Despite the grim nature of her work, she remains warm and encouraging to “her” Pathfinders, treating every agent like a precious resource.

  • The Harrow: Evni is a skilled Harrower. She often uses her deck to seek guidance on which routes into the Gravelands are “least clouded” by the undead legions.

Strategic Directives #

When briefing agents for missions into undead territory, Evni emphasizes three core rules:

  1. “Be a Shadow”: Direct confrontation with the Whispering Way’s legions is a death sentence. Identify patrol routes and move where they are not.

  2. “Legacy Over Glory”: The mission is to recover Wayfinders and historical relics. We ensure Lastwall is remembered; we do not try to retake it alone.

  3. “Trust the Stars”: As a follower of Desna, she reminds agents that even in the darkest necropolis, the stars still watch over the traveler.

Current Objectives #

Evni is currently obsessed with the ruins of Goldenflame. She has a list of ten specific Pathfinders who went missing there during the retreat. To Evni, bringing back their Wayfinders—or their remains—is a sacred duty to ensure they are not forgotten or, worse, raised into the Tyrant’s service.
