Corvan

Overview #

Corvan is a frail, nervous Egorian who finds himself at the center of a massive political conspiracy. Formerly employed as a silent valet for a powerful Chelish noble family, Corvan utilized his unassuming position and his extraordinary photographic memory to uncover his employers’ darkest secrets. He now acts as a living vault of highly sensitive, dangerous information.

The Conspiracy #

During his tenure as a valet, Corvan memorized mental ledgers that serve as undeniable proof of widespread corruption. Several prominent Chelish noble houses are actively embezzling funds directly from the Church of Asmodeus. Instead of lining their own pockets, these corrupt nobles are using the stolen wealth to finance a private mercenary army.

To ensure Corvan’s silence, these nobles have bribed a ruthless sect of rogue mercenaries. These mercenaries are currently operating in Caliphas disguised as a faction of Chelish Hellknights known as the Order of the Chain, though they are not officially sanctioned by the government. Their sole mission is to hunt Corvan down and execute him before his knowledge can be made public.

Current Status and Goals #

Corvan’s ultimate objective is to flee Ustalav and reach the free nation of Andoran. Once safely across the border, he intends to publish his mental ledgers and expose the Chelish nobles’ treason.

Currently, Corvan is in hiding. He was introduced to the party by Pearl, a tiller for the Bellflower Network, who is protecting him. The two are taking shelter around a meager fire inside an abandoned and dilapidated Pharasmin chapel hidden within the rundown Cairn District of Caliphas
